FBC Blessing — Senior Pastor Job Description Open Position Bi-Vocational Senior Pastor Denomination Baptist Church Size We are a small rural church, with approximately 35 active members. Job Description FBC Blessing is looking for bi-vocational pastor to lead our church in the path God has for us. Total compensation for the position will be $30,000 per year. Candidates must be dedicated to studying and teaching the inerrant and infallible Word of God. He must have a servant mentality, willing to minister to not only the church body but also within the community. He will be expected to oversee the day to day administrative workings of the church, and be available to act as counselor / minister when the need arises. As the church grow both spiritually and numerically a full time pastoral position may become a possibility. We worship the immutable Triune God who alone is the creator of all things. Salvation is in the hands of God and mankind is unable in his fallen depraved state to earn and / or merit salvation. God by his sovereign plan chooses who he wills; reveals his truth and understanding to his chosen elect, by the work of his holy spirit to bring them back to life; to be able to call freely on the name of their Redeemer and Savior, Jesus the Christ, the only begotten of the father. Ephesians 2: 8 - 10. Where we are FBC Blessing is located in Blessing, Texas, (Matagorda County) 15 miles North of Palacios, TX and 18 miles West of Bay City, TX. Who are we looking for Character Honest and Trustworthy Faithful and Steadfast Uncompromising on the truth and infallible word of God Living out the requirements as described in 1st Tim 3 and Titus 1 Primary Responsibilities Prepare and deliver sermons Sunday mornings and evening service. Oversee Wednesday night prayer meetings, must be available to attend the church business meeting on the first Wednesday of every month. Working with the church body, oversee the day to day administrative workings of the Church. Perform Pastoral duties, ie: Marriage, funerals etc., in accordance with the church bylaws. The lead Pastor, following the word of God, should have a desire, vision, and ability to reach our local community and schools. Education / Experience Two years of ministry experience is preferred.
